Hey guys! Let me put you guys onto one of the most perfect spots we’ve ever stayed at. My partner and I decided to stay at The Caldera Nest, and it was absolutely perfect for us. From the smooth and clean limestone floors to the massive outdoor terrace (+ hot tub) with a view of the iconic Oia sunset, this place had it all.
Let’s start with the limestone floors. I mean, how cool is that? It was a refreshing change from the usual carpets you find in hotels. The stone floors gave the room a more rustic and homey feel. It was like we were living in a cave house from ancient times, but with all the modern amenities. And speaking of modern amenities, the room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
And let me tell you, the coffee at Vitrin was out of this world. We loved starting our mornings there, sipping on a cappuccino while enjoying the stunning views of the caldera. It was the perfect way to start our day and set the tone for the rest of our adventures.
Another highlight of our trip was discovering Atlantis Books. It’s a charming little bookstore tucked away in a corner of Oia, and it’s an absolute must-visit. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about books, and we loved hearing their stories and recommendations. We ended up picking up a few books to bring home as souvenirs, and they’ve become some of our favorite reads.
Now, let’s talk about the highlight of our stay – the massive outdoor terrace. This was where we spent most of our time. It was the perfect place to sit back, relax, and take in the view of the Aegean Sea. And the best part? We were able to watch the iconic Oia sunset every night from the comfort of our own private terrace. It was truly breathtaking. It was like watching a painting come to life right before our eyes.
The hospitality at The Caldera Nest was also incredible. Our host, Dimitris, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. We were in a bit of a pickle trying to find a same-day car rental, and he helped us out and found us one. He also gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do on the island. And let me tell you, the places he recommended did not disappoint.
One of the spots he recommended was Niko’s Place. It’s a must-visit if you’re ever in Oia. The gyros there were the best we’ve ever had. We also did a short hike to The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Holy Chapel, and the views were simply amazing. You could see the entire island of Santorini from up there.
The location of The Caldera Nest is also prime. We were right in the heart of Oia, and just a few minutes away from all the action. We loved being able to avoid the crowds and come back to our peaceful little oasis at the end of the day.
Overall, our trip to Santorini was an absolute dream come true, and The Caldera Nest played a huge role in making it so incredible. We felt like we were living in a postcard the entire time, and we can’t wait to go back someday. If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable vacation experience, definitely give The Caldera Nest a try.
